Anton Paar Physica MCR 301 rotational viscosimeter

Contact: Gyarmati Benjámin Sándor
Address: 1111 Budapest, Budafoki 8
F 1 building 1. 130
Description:
Anton Paar Physica MCR 301 rotational viscosimeter

Using rotational viscosimetry, rheological characteristics during the flow of liquids, suspensions, gels or polymer melts can be determined at low shear rates. The method is based on the theory of flow between parallel plates, and – besides the characterization of molecular structure and interactions – it makes the investigation of reactions possible as well. Information on the ratio of elastic and viscous deformation in the flow of materials can also be acquired applying oscillation mode.

Brookhaven ZETAPALS

Contact: Gyarmati Benjámin Sándor
Address: 1111 Budapest, Budafoki 8
F 1 building mfsz. 8/3
Description: The stability of colloidal systems can be characterized by the Brookhaven ZETAPALS instrument.  Electrophoretic mobility and zeta potential of the particles can easily be determined.

INSTRON 5543 mechanical tester

Contact: Szilágyi András Ferenc
Address: 1111 Budapest, Budafoki 8
F 1 building mfsz. 8/2
Description: Instron 5543 can be used to determine the stiffness of soft materials, gels and rubbers in compression tests. The maximum load can be 50 or 500 N depending on the chosen force cell. The measuring setup can be thermostated.

K–7000 Vapor Pressure Osmometer

Contact: Szilágyi András Ferenc
Address: 1111 Budapest, Budafoki út 6-8.
F I. building 1. 141
Description: The Vapor Pressure Osmometer K–7000 measures the total osmolality of physiological fluids and can be used to determine the  average molecular mass of polymers in aqueous or organic solutions. The maximum molecular weight which can be determined is 10000 g/mol in water and 40000 g/mol in organic solvents.

ScanVac Coolsafe Superior XS freeze-dryer

Contact: Szilágyi András Ferenc
Address: 1111 Budapest, Budafoki út 6-8.
F I. building 1 138
Description: Our laboratory lyophilizer is suitable for freeze drying of chemical, food, and biological samples. The device is equipped with a 9 l condenser working at -110 °C and with a 4 kg ice per 24 h capacity. The samples may be freeze-dried from round-bottom flask, freeze drying flask, or with electrically heated shelf system. In the latter case there is possibility for pre-freezing and secondary drying of the samples, furthermore, the complete freeze-drying cycle can be programmed and documented.
